I'm 17 years old and was caught with a drug paraphernalia by policie and residue was found in it, I need help!?

hello people, I need help and I'm kind off confused, so I got caught with a drug paraphernalia and it had residue in it, so my chargew went from possetion of drug paraphernalia to "possetion of marijuana", the pipe wasn't even in used at all, it was old and i just had on my possetion at the wrong time, anyways the police found it, and now a have a court"hearing" or something like that, and this is my first offense, this happened in school, in fairfax, Virginia, sooo please help me people, I need some advices of what could happen?
