Muskie fishing, how many fish?

I know you cant really accurately answer this question, but for a 1st few times going out after muskies, from a avid fisherman and hunter of anything from canadian walleyes and pike, to whatever you can think of, except muskie, till now. so would SEEING 1-3 fish in a 12 hour day of fishing, be reasonable for a beginner? I have seen several muskie out spearing pike during winter.
